After many months of distraction, I was driving out on the plains of eastern Colorado, when I came over a hill and saw a low, wide valley filled with clouds. I had never seen such a site on the plains. None of the other valleys I had driven through had this type of inversion. It was completely unexpected and out of character with anything I had seen here.
It took my breath away and in doing so reminded me again of that thing I had always wanted to share.
I stopped along the country road to collect the morning as it slowly began to break up. I was so mesmerized that I had at times to remind myself why I had stopped.
Something about the red sun (from the fires in western Colorado) shining through the mists of the morning reminded me of something emerging into the light, something within me.
